Kerry Logistics Network opens chemical centre in China, eyes more potential market

The new centre comprises 320,000 sq ft.

Logistics company Kerry Logistics Network Limited has opened its newest logistics centre in Cangzhou Lingang Economic and Technological Development Zone in Hebei, China.

The company has envisioned the new facility to capture the market potential in chemical logistics and to further strengthen the company’s service capabilities, including its export, international-standard operating platform, and transportation facilities.

The new logistics center has a total area of 320,000 sq ft and is within the Tianjin Nangang Industrial Zone. Aside from office facilities, the centre has Class A and Class B warehouses that can store about 400,000 tonnes of chemicals a year.

The center was designed and built above Chinese national standards and is equipped with smart monitoring and management systems.

Currently, it is handling mainly industrial raw materials, mostly packaged in Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC), drum, and pail. The warehouse will store 38 types of dangerous goods, including flammable liquids and solids, oxidisers, and corrosive substances.

Managing Director William Ma said the newly built IMS Chemical Cangzhou logistics centre is the flagship development of the company in line with its expansion plan.

Ma added the company is confident that not only will the center improve the company’s capabilities in manufacturing chemicals and dangerous goods, it will also enhance the user experience and elevate service quality, offering growth initiatives to the industry.
